Lifestyle sessions are designed to capture a mixture of candid and posed portraits. We will begin with some posed portraits and then I'll encourage a more relaxed portion of our session to give you some candid photographs to capture you/your loved ones together.

I always enjoy exploring new locations for portrait sessions so I am happy to meet you at a location of your choosing. Lifestyle sessions typically take place at your home, but if you are wanting your session to be outdoors in a neutral environment and don't know where to go, I can make a few suggestions on spots I have photographed.

In my ideal outdoor portrait session, we will begin our session during "golden hour" (which varies based on the time of the year), but golden hour happens one hour after sunrise or two hours before sunset.

If we are doing the session at your home, I will ask that you watch how the light flows into your windows of the rooms we would be photographing in (typically bedrooms, the kitchen, the living room/den, etc. are the most popular spots at home), and ideally, if it happens close to golden hour, we will try to get some portraits taken outside in your front or backyard as well.

I highly encourage and love when your furry family members join in on the session, as they are part of the family!
